In what must be the unlikeliest event to occur since the man himself dated Chelsea Handler, it seems Fiddy’s turned his hand to writing novels. The rapper and actor adds another string to his bow with a book entitled Playground.
The novel- a story about a 13-year-old bully who changes his ways and learns from his actions after seeing the damage his behaviour has caused, is based partly on the rapper’s own life and his tough upbringing in the crime ridden New York neighbourhood of Jamaica, Queens.
Known to his mother as Curtis Jackson, the rapper said in a statement: “I had a strong desire to write ‘Playground’ because I wanted to explore how a kid becomes a bully.”
Having signed a deal with Penguin’s Young Reader Group, 50 says he hopes the book will be a positive influence on teenagers and admits that the book “would have been very helpful for me growing up.”
The book is scheduled to be released in early 2012; stay posted for further news.
