nolovelost reviewrate4 Throughout his career Joe Budden has been considered many things - an outcast, a drunk, very much up himself, and more recently a sucker for love. While he may admit to being, or having been, one or some of these things, something has been missed. How about survivor? Judging from his recent verse on "Want You Back" with Fabolous and Cassie, as well as a few older joints, and his Slaughterhouse entries of course, Joey has physically, mentally, and emotionally been through the wars. Bringing to the table his first official solo project since the conception of hip-hop supergroup Slaughterhouse, of which he is a part alongside Crooked I, Royce Da 5'9", and Joell Ortiz, Budden might have finally silenced his critics.

Remember that kid you picked on for not having the latest kicks? Or the one you made fun of for having problems at home? How about the one you beat up in the gym just because? Well that guy is now the most popular kid in school, and he goes by the name of Machine Gun Kelly. Growing up was never easy for the Cleveland city native. Sleeping on other peoples couches, seeing close friends go to prison for life and witnessing family members just disappear became a regular occurrence. However, that’s all changed now after some seriously hard grafting, which in turn lead to him securing a record deal with, a man who knows a little thing or two about the music industry, Diddy.

An unlikely hero amongst the people, Machine Gun Kelly is the Cleveland City representer who went from sleeping on couches down on his luck to inspiring a generation of youths with his reality check rhymes and tales of hope. Signed to Diddy’s Bad Boy label, MGK is one of the premiering artists who are a part of Diddy’s Bad Boy reinvention. His rapid fire flow and emotionally driven lyrical content combine to create a well rounded individual who could well become an underground icon over time if he manages to keep his huge following in tact.

Bobby V (previously Valentino) is back with his fourth studio album, Fly On The Wall. The first thing that sprung to mind on receipt of the album was, ‘This better be good,’ having being a fan of his first two albums, Bobby Valentino and Special Occasion... Thankfully, throughout Fly On The Wall Bobby V displays the attributes of a true R&B artist who sings with real emotional conviction, a trademark falsetto and addresses subject matters typical to the genre; from pining over that special girl to exploring the sensual side of a lady.
