Q Parker, for those unfamiliar with the name, is one part of the hugely successful R&B foursome 112. Originating from Atlanta, Georgia and signed to Diddy’s Bad Boy Records, the group had five albums between the years of 1996 and 2005. Also Grammy winners for their contribution to the Notorious B.I.G. tribute record "I’ll Be Missing You," Q, Daron, Slim, and Michael are often referred to as one of the better R&B groups of the golden era by fans and critics alike. With that said, and a reunion apparently on the cards, the time has come for Q to go it alone and reignite the type of R&B that not only plays the soundtrack to a couple’s romantic evening but also provides the backdrop to many a passionate person’s everyday life.

With the year 2012 rapidly coming to an end, releases between now and December 31st will find it tough to break into the ranks of the best releases of the last 365 days. Having said that the artist in question's latest offering will be welcomed by all, most notably down to the lengthy delay of its prequel. New York's Saigon births The Greatest Story Never Told Chapter 2: Bread and Circuses just a mere 19 months after the first offering was released. With more of Sai's signature parables, street tale dissection and collabs from all corners, will this story provide one of the better offerings of 2012 or will it be one story too many for a rapper whom many have become tired of waiting on?

Another weekend has passed us so it's time for our regular Monday mixtape round-up. Last week saw a swarm of Hip-Hop goodness from the likes of Busta Rhymes, DJ Green Lantern and Styles P, plus London indie group The xx provided our alternative music fix with a stream of their upcoming album, whilst Lady Leshurr and Delilah each get one in for the girls with mixtape releases. Catch up on all the goods below.

Arguably the most revered group of the late '90s and beyond, Yonkers' The LOX lyrically (and at times physically) shook the competition into submission. With each of the members playing their part - Jadakiss being the franchise and Sheek Louch the street general - it was Styles P who somewhat surprisingly managed to stand comfortably on the fine line between critical acclaim and hood props. With albums touching the nerves of a college kid, activist or gang member, Pinero, in some peoples eyes, was the real gem of the group instead of the much lauded Kiss. With rap now being dictated by the more emotional of rappers, Master of Ceremonies aims to inject that rough house, honest dialect with which Styles P has reigned.

On the weekend in which the Hip Hop world celebrated the late Notorious B.I.G’s birthday, it was only fitting that one of the few emcees to ever make a song with Frank White would drop something new for the masses. Jadakiss, the man cited as being “Top Five Dead Or Alive,” has remained the people’s favourite due to his early features on Biggie and The L.O.X’s material as well as his steady growth into one of the fiercest with the bars, as proven on various albums and lyrical sparrings. In a move which shows his overwhelming gratitude to his supporters, Kiss’ new mixtape is an offering aimed solely at those who have had his back from day one, the only question now left is whether his love letter endears to his faithful.

In the long line of artists who have attempted to master the brand of 'mafioso rap' Rick Ross has been one of the few to do it with such conviction. Even after a beef with 50 Cent (which led to much dirty laundry being aired), the Boss/Baws has still stood tall in the rap kingdom, notably down to a 'never bow down' mentality as well as the emphatic Deeper Than Rap album. With Diddy now managing his affairs and his Teflon Don project still in preparation, Rick Ross offers a up quick fix for the Maybach lovers on the The Albert Anastasia EP.
