Entrepreneur and philanthropist Russell Simmons has released his second book, Super Rich: A Guide To Having It All today . It follows the New York Times bestseller Do You! Written with Chris Morrow, Super Rich does not centre on financial wealth, but looking at wealth of person in a more holistic sense. Simmons shares personal stories about his journey to riches, real life examples, spiritual philosophies, and Yogic principles to help readers achieve a greater sense of happiness and 'wealth' in all areas of their lives. In Simmons' words, "Happy can make you money, but money can't make you happy." Speaking to AllHipHop.com, Simmons discussed how the motivation behind his first book differed from his second. "The first book Do You! came with a good advance which I gave to charity," He explained. "It was kind of a selfish motivation to pull all the study together. But when Oprah called and promoted it.. so many people said it 'changed their life.'" Feedback from the readers motivated him to write Super Rich without an agenda to promote. "I wrote this simple guide with a more selfless motivation, as an offering. I hope it promotes prosperity and well being for whoever reads it" In the excerpt below, the mogul speaks about the Five Percenters and their impact on Jay Electronica's “Exhibit C”.
