FELA! the hit musical is to return to London this summer for a six week run at Sadler’s Wells Theatre, following a critically and commercially successful run at the National Theatre in Winter 2010.

A vibrant exploration of the life and music of Afrobeat legend Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, the production is scheduled to run again in London from July 19 to August 28 2011.

Featuring the intense, rhythmic sounds of Fela Kuti and directed by Tony Award-winning choreographer Bill T Jones, FELA! has been an equally explosive highlight on the other side of the pond on Broadway, where it initially launched in 2008.

Fela! is produced by Shawn ‘Jay-Z’ Carter, movie star Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith, Ruth and Stephen Hendel, Roy Gabay, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Edward Tyler Nahem, Slava Smolokowski, Chip Meyrelles, Ken Greiner, Douglas G Smith, Steve Semlitz/Cathy Glazer, Daryl Roth, True Love Productions, Susan Dietz, Mort Swinsky, Knitting Factory Entertainment and Ahmir Questlove Thompson.
