Shortly before Christmas we caught up with stunning actress Sanaa Lathan at the Novello Theatre in London, where the current run of Tennessee Williams’ Cat On A Hot Tin Roof takes place until April 2010. Adapted by Debbie Allen, the play features an esteemed all-black starring cast in which Sanaa plays Maggie ‘The Cat’ alongside James Earl Jones, Phylicia Rashad and Adrian Lester.

In this filmed excerpt from our interview, Privacy vs Celebrity, Sanaa shares her thoughts on the US tabloids’ attitude towards African American celebrities, celebrity culture, having rumours printed about her and developing a thick skin.

Cat on a Hot Tin Roof is at the Novello Theatre, London until April 2010. Tickets: www.novellotheatre.com

  4. Sage advice from a beautiful lady, much too underrated as an actress. Sanaa needs to get the same agent as Kerry Washington so she can get more film roles worthy of her!
