image reviewrate4_5 Dark poetry is probably the best way to describe Ghostface Killah’s latest offering. If you’re a fan of Quentin Tarantino movies you’ll love it. Like a lyrical horr-opera, Ghostdini does what he does best by attacking every beat with his razor sharp tongue not letting up for even a second. While many are going to forever say that Ironman is the Wu-Tang [Clan] rhymer’s finest work – which it might well be – Twelve Reasons To Die is definitely of the same standard. With solid narrative from start to finish, the return of a completely cohesive project is a beautiful thing to see and hear. Ghost’s lyrically descriptive music paints an insane picture of retaliation, revenge and get back; and putting pieces of the puzzle together becomes a satisfying game of did he/didn’t he [which once again gives your rewind button purpose].

MTV have teamed up with Ghostface Killah to release the company’s first interactive e-book, entitled The World According to Pretty Toney. The e-book is based on the 2007 hardcover release of the same name, written by the Wu-Tang rapper and Jahai Brightly, and the release comes with over 40 minutes of audio commentary from Pretty Toney himself as well as photos and the original MTV2 video shorts that lead to the book’s creation.

The sign outside the HMV Forum ticket office reads, “due to unforeseen circumstances, RZA, Raekwon and Inspektah Deck aren’t able to perform tonight, refunds are available.” This is not the first time the Wu have performed as a group with a few members missing in action and probably won’t be the last. However the starting line-up has a few all stars in the form of Method Man and Ghostface so the show goes on without too many grumbles from the masses in attendance tonight. The packed venue suggests not many took up the refund option.

Still going strong in 2011, the Wu-Tang revolution, continues get Hip Hoppers amped like the first time they ever came across the Staten Island natives. One question which continues to remain unanswered (besides when the new joint Wu album will be released) is which member has the most stellar catalog of albums? Whilst there’s room for many debates, the Chef Raekwon is one name who can lay claim to the accolade. Putting out fine, cinematic material since the 1995 classic Only Built For Cuban Linx, Rae’s importance to the branding of the Wu remains ever much important, and his latest release intends to keep the ‘W’ in the circle of rap’s greats still present in the new millennium.

Everyone know the Wu Tang ain’t nothing to f**k with – but when it comes to making consistently dope albums, none of the Wu members can step to the Ghostface Killah. Hands down the Shaolin rapper with the most satisfying catalog, Tony Starks has been releasing empirical material for well over a decade now and looks to continue well into another. His newest release bears the name of a classic Ghost track from his Supreme Clientele album as Apollo Kids hopes to recapture the past magic of the Staten Island general.
