Will Smith’s Hitch To Become TV Show

Following a bidding war, Fox has won the rights to develop Will Smith‘s hit 2005 movie, Hitch. Will Smith and his Overbrook Entertainment production company will be working with  Fox to produce the TV spin-off, based on the film, which made $368 million  (£231.87 million) worldwide, and was about a ‘dating doctor’ relationship expert who had problems in his own love life.

“The Proposal” writer Peter Chiarelli will pen the script to update the romantic comedy for the small screen. Interestingly, Overbrook and Sony TV developed a half-hour comedy version for CBS three seasons ago. This time the project will reportedly be an “action-packed one hour.”
