Thurz – “L.N.S.” | New Music

There’s a gift and a curse when it comes to crafting a great record. Sure, you get acclaim from critics, props from fans and subsequently climb a few rungs on the ladder of artistry, but a burden of pressure always manages to manifest itself when the time comes to prep a new project. For Thurz, his 2011 effort, L.A. Riot, accomplished just that, but it sounds like he’s embracing the curse with open arms.

The Los Angeles rapper and former U-N-I member told Potholes In My Blog recently that he’s lining up a new – and serious – album, Blood On The Canvas, for an October release, but beforehand, he’ll put out a freebie entitled 517 W Queen Tape.

After delivering a pair of standout cuts in “Keep The Faith” (which also appears on Toronto emcee Rich Kidd‘s recent We On Some Rich Kidd Shit Vol. 6 mixtape) and the BJ The Chicago-assisted “Another Number“, Thurz unleashes the latest piece from his upcoming tape with “L.N.S.”. An acronym for “Live N*gga Shit”, I needn’t point out that this one’s an absolute banger.

Cue the opening sample on Dr. Dre‘s “Lyrical Gangbang”: “This should be played at high volume, preferably in a residential area.”
