Snapshot: 2 Chainz covers The Source’s Man of the Year issue | Music News

For their third Man of the Year issue, The Source have selected the rapper formerly known as Tity Boi to appear on their cover.

2 Chainz, as is he is now known, has had an incredible 2012. Building off last year’s T.R.U REALigion tape the Playaz Circle rapper has gone from strength to strength, revamping his image and establishing himself as the new king of features with appearances on tracks by G.O.O.D. Music, Nicki Minaj and many more of the game’s best-selling artists. At the same time, he had a U.S No.1 album with Based on a T.R.U Story, dropping hits like “No Lie“, “Birthday Song” and “I Luv Dem Strippers” and making that 2 Chaiiiinnnz ad-lib both ubiquitous and memorable.

In an excerpt from the cover story, 2 Chainz comments “It wasn’t like my name made me rap better. I worked my ass off….It felt good to outdo myself and just be omnipresent and be a part of everything.”
