Sevyn Streeter covers Aaliyah’s “Come Over” [Video]

Although she’s making her own name in the R&B game, Sevyn Streeter takes a minute to pay homage to one of the greats as she chooses to cover Aaliyah‘s “Come Over” in a new acoustic session for The Warner Sound.

The singer, who’s signed to Chris Brown‘s label CBE and Atlantic Records, sat comfortably as she sang a confident rendition of the 2003 release.

After visiting the late singer’s high school in Detroit, Sevyn was inspired by Aaliyah even more even going as far as writing an open letter to her, crediting Aaliyah for what she’s taught her, saying, “From the bottom of my heart, I want to say THANK YOU & I LOVE YOU because you taught me it’s sexy to be cool and it’s cool to just be you!”
