Rita Ora tops UK singles charts + “R.I.P” becomes fastest selling UK single of 2012

Rita Ora‘s ascension to pop stardom escalated further moments ago, as the Roc Nation-signed singer claimed her very first solo UK number one with the Tinie Tempah-assisted “RIP“. The single also happened to break her own record, beating her previous number one collaborative single, “Hot Right Now” with DJ Fresh, as the fastest-selling single in the UK this year.

“RIP” pipped N-DubzTulisa‘s “Young” and Carly Rae Jepsen‘s “Call Me Maybe” to the first prize. Like most artists these days, Rita took to Twitter to express her excitement:

“RIP” serves as the lead UK single from her forthcoming currently untitled debut album. Looking to conquer the States also, “How We Do (Party)” is being promoted as the debut single across the pond.
