Rick Ross tops NY Times Pop Top 10 Albums List

In a month of many best-ofs, top 10s and and 2010-loving lists, here’s a [somewhat] unexpected pick to peruse today as Rick Ross tops the New York Times‘ Pop Top 10 albums list for 2010 with Teflon Don, released in July.

The rapper’s fourth studio album, Teflon Don, beats projects from the likes of Taylor Swift, Kanye West , Drake, Justin Bieber, R Kelly and the surprising inclusion of DJ Drama and Fabolous‘ mixtape, There Is No Competition 2: The Funeral Service, to the top spot.

“Finally, a new hip-hop superhero: on his fourth album, Rick Ross fully inhabits his Rick Rossness, celebrating his growth as a rapper and the return of new money as an aesthetic.
