Rick Ross announces Maybach Music Group’s move to Atlantic Records | Music News

This week didn’t start off great for Maybach Music Group as they had to cancel the rest of their tour due to “miscommunication with the tour promoter”, but with a recent, big move in record labels things may start looking up. Rick Ross has announced that MMG has moved from Warner Bros. to partner up with Atlantic Records, with more details to come soon.

South Florida radio station 99JAMZ were told the news during an interview with Rozay as they tweeted about it saying, “@rickyrozay just announced MMG has merged with Atlantic Records more details coming!”

MMG have only been at Warner for two years, and if the new merger is legit then this could make for a few awkward boardroom meetings as fellow rapper Young Jeezy was recently made VP of A&R over at Atlantic.

Rick Ross and Jeezy got into a public scuffle at this years BET Awards, with Ross even commenting on the incident during the interview with 99JAMZ saying, “If I see Young Jeezy again would I try to choke him? It’s an option.”

With the beef between them still unresolved, it will be interesting to see how the move to Atlantic Records plays out, and whether Jeezy will be getting involved in MMG at the label.
