Oh No announces blaxploitation-inspired album | Music News

Stones Throw producer and sibling of fellow revered beatsmith Madlib, Oh No is set to release a full-length album based on samples from the classic 1975 blaxploitation film Dolemite, entitled OhNoMite. The idea for such a record surfaced in 2008, one year after the release of Dr No’s Oxperiment, which was built on samples from old European and Turkish funk records.

Although wildly experimental, familiar faces such as MF DOOM, Erick Sermon, Guilty Simpson, The Alchemist, Phife Dawg, Roc Marciano and Termanology will guest on OhNoMite, which is set for a June 5th release.

Sample the Termanology and Ea$y Money-assisted “Sound Off” cut below to help wrap your ears around the project, and be on the lookout for a special edition 5″ vinyl of Oh No and MF DOOM’s “3 Dollars” single, which will hit shelves soon.
