Odd Future discuss their rise in popularity & Wu-Tang comparisons @SXSW [Video]

SoulCulture’s Verse is not the only one currently having fun in Texas at the SXSW music festival; Hot 97 radio personality and Hip Hop head Pete Rosenberg is also also there rubbing shoulders with some of the newest and biggest names in Hip Hop today. Whilst in Austin, Texas, Rosenberg has decided to release a (semi-vlog) series called What’s Poppin’ where he will interview artists that have performed or will be performing at the week log music (and film) festival.

First up are the California based collective Odd Future

In the interview, split into two parts, Tyler, The Creator (a.k.a Lil’ Zane), Syd The Kid, Hodgy Beats, Left Brain, Domo Genesis and Mike G discuss their rise in popularity over the last three to six months, which stars they have met (Jay-Z, Pharrell, Wiz Khalifa and Justin Bieber) and more.

The collective also talk about the music they grew up listening to, artists they would like to work with, their thoughts on all the Wu-Tang comparisons and a nonsense debate over whether fellow Odd Future member Earl Sweatshirt’s debut album, Earl, is better than Nas’ Illmatic.
