No Doubt announces new album release date | Music News

Grammy-winning and BRIT Award-nominated American rockers No Doubt took to the web earlier this weekend to announce that their sixth studio album will hit stores this September.

“We are incredibly excited to share the new music with you. Ear candy coming your way!” read a message to fans posted on the band’s website. “Thank you all so much for your support over the last 25 years. We’re really proud of our new album and we hope you love it as much as we do.”

The as-yet-untitled project will hit stores September 25th, and will be the first we’ve heard from the “Hey Baby” band since 2001’s Rock Steady.

“It’s so exciting to have a record coming out,” Gwen Stefani, the band’s fashion-forward lead singer, told Rolling Stone in a 2011 interview about their sixth album, which was still in progress at the time. “And we all want the same thing: for it to be modern and catchy and addictive. Once you make music that connects with people, it’s like you taste blood — you can’t go back.”
