Tito Lopez – “The Blues” | Music Video

Gifted Mississippi-repping rapper Tito Lopez follows up recent mixtape The Hunger Game with his debut single for Capital Records entitled “The Blues”.
Lopez lives up to the legacy crooked-letter compatriots like David Banner and Big K.R.I.T. (the latter of whom he’s currently on tour alongside) by spitting that realness over some brilliant production. He reps his home state in the video, rolling through Mississipi in the daytime and after dark and taking in the sights. I highly recommend you check this out.

Lopez is perhaps best known for “Mama Proud”, another introspective track which dropped back in March and caught the attention of the world, a year after the emcee received a co-sign from Dr Dre (who he’s reportedly been in the studio with since). His stuff isn’t all as introspective (and bigger-picture enlightening) as these two tracks, but on them and a few others he shows genuine promise that suggests he’s capable of doing something special.
