Stylo G – “Call Mi A Yardie” | Music Video

Finally, the long-awaited video for the unofficial Yardie (slang term for “Jamaicans”, mainly used by those abroad) anthem of 2011 is here. Jamaican-born, south-east London resident Stylo G has the streets on relative lock and key in terms of UK dancehall play in clubs with “Boasy,” “Swagger Dem” and “Call Mi A Yardie” regularly shellin’ down nightspots. If you haven’t heard them before, you haven’t been in the right spots. Produced by brother Kody Star, the relatively unknown third member of Crazy Cousins once upon a time.

This so hot, Sneakbo took his jet ski to ride the riddim, dropping “Call Me A Naija remix” for the UK’s Nigerians out there. Canadian dancehall-ish artist Kardinal Offishall also expressed interest in releasing a version via Twitter

Call Me A Yardie mixtape hosted by BBC 1Xtra’s Robbo Ranx is available to download for FREE here. Features Stylo displaying his versatility over exclusive beats, popular dancehall riddim and taking his flavour to various well-known hip hop beats.
