Rapsody f/ Nomsa Mazwai – “In The Town” | Music Video

Taken from her fantastic debut album The Idea of Beautiful [read our review here], Rapsody releases some visuals to “In The Town,” her lyrical interpretation of a woman’s struggle with a 2Pac‘s “Brenda’s Got A Baby” vibe to it.

Produced by 9th Wonder, the video, which is directed by in-house Jamla Records film maker Kenneth Price, depicts a girl having to lay down to make that money to support herself and her family. Marrying some serious vocals with some serious visuals, “In The Town” is a hip-hop record with hardships and complexity.

With Jamla taking over the internet via Twitter, Facebook, and so many other social media networks, there’s no question that they are the squad. With the likes of Rapsody, GQ, and Thee Tom Hardy reppin’ hard for the North Carolina based collective, as well as having 9th on the boards for each each release, their following can only continue to grow. Authentic hip-hop is alive and well over at Jamla.
