Rachel Kerr – “Hold My Hand” | Music Video

With roaring soul and sharply impressive vocal control, emerging UK singer Rachel Kerr seemingly effortlessly raises the bar with her official video for “Hold My Hand.”

Inspired by the showmanship of performing legends James Brown and Tina Turner as well as the R&B singers of her youth – the likes of Brandy, Destiny’s Child, Monica and Aaliyah – the Birmingham native began singing at a young age; hailing from a musical family and citing her Gospel singer father as a great influence on her writing.

“When I started writing [“Hold My Hand”], I realised that every single person on this Earth has that vulnerable time when we need something or someone greater than us, or just someone to support us through life,” she explained of the song’s meaning in a recent interview. “So for me, I’m speaking to my family, I’m speaking to God, I’m speaking to my best friends – and saying listen, I can only do so much by myself – we all need somebody…”

Nominated for ‘Best Gospel Act’ at this year’s MOBO Awards and currently working on a new project, Ms Kerr is definitely one to watch out for. Stay tuned for live dates.
