Mobb Deep reveal cover for Black Cocaine EP | Music News

On their first ever EP Mobb Deep will be getting us high on November 25 AKA Black Friday with their release of Black Cocaine. Speaking to MTVNews US, one of half of the best rap group in the world IMD Prodigy explains the decision to not feature either himself of Havoc on the cover but feature the image of black powder spelling out the words “Black Cocaine” on a white background with a rolled-up $100 bill beside the powder.

“The cover art for the Black Cocaine EP was an idea I came up with then passed over to the [Sony] RED art department. They brought my thoughts to life…,” he says. “Havoc and I laughed the other day about how hustlers are gonna try to make real black cocaine when they see the cover and hear the music.”

Roll on November 25th! Until then, here are some hood visuals for “Killa Squad,” directed by Shatek The Producer for Prodigy of Mobb Deep and his new artist Ox. Some real, East Coast kick in the door guerilla shit!

..and if that’s not enough watch the footage of Prodigy and Havoc’s Q & A session about their classic LP, The Infamous at the Red Bull Academy’s Five Out of Five tour in New York City where they recalled recording “Shook Ones pt. II”
