Kelly Rowland – “Dirty Laundry” | Music Video

Taken from her latest album, Talk A Good Game, which was released last month, Kelly Rowland has just released the video for lead single “Dirty Laundry”.

The song is laid-bare tale of Rowland’s own experience of domestic abuse and the challenges of living in the shadow of fellow Destiny’s Child performer and childhood friend Beyoncé. The video is full of single-frame, lone shots of Rowland alone in an empty hangar or submerged in water, taking on the themes of emotional isolation and torment in the song. The song, co-written by The Dream, goes into detail about Rowland’s past relationship and in the video much is made of symbolic role play, highlighting her vulnerable status as she finds her white dress covered in red wine, eventually finding herself cleansed in the water.
