If, like me, you were a huge Pussycat Dolls fan who didn’t care much for Nicole‘s near-dictatorial insistence on singing almost all lead and backing vocals then here’s an exciting development you: former group member Melody Thorton has just dropped her debut solo single on iTunes, a retro-sounding number that’s more Dionne Bromfield than Amy Winehouse.
Melody is in London at the moment, filming the new series of ‘Popstar to Operastar’. The 26-year-old has been working on her own material since leaving PCD, most of which will apparently be in the vein of this teaser single. Expect live instruments, throwback 1960s-esque vocals, and Lil’ Wayne. Go figure… This ain’t bad though, the girl can sing.
