Lil Wayne to feature on Limp Bizkit’s debut Cash Money single | Music News

The news of Limp Bizkit signing to Rap music label Cash Money may have been a bit strange to digest at first but it looks like plans are being made to set things straight.

Having already shown off his Rock/Nu-Metal influences in some of his music, Lil Wayne is set to collaborate with the band on their debut single under their new label.

In a recent interview with XXL, co-founder of Cash Money Records Birdman spoke about how the signing of the group came about and how he was already a fan of the group and its leadman, Fred Durst.

“Fred reached out, bruh. It was weird how it happened. He was like, ‘Stunna, what’s good?’” I was like, ‘What’s poppin, 5?’ (Fred said) ‘I wanna join the team.’,” Birdman recalls.

“He didn’t have to say it twice. I was already a fan of him. When the opportunity came, we really was supposed to announce it at the Grammys. Wayne was going to announce it at the Grammys, but he did it when he felt like it.”

As well as the group being part of the label, Birdman also stated that he wanted Fred Durst to be in the frontline of the Rock department of the label;

“He’s a visionary, he’s a great artist… Also, I want him to be a part of our staff and take over the rock department and bring us over more talent because that’s what he does. I think with having Limp he brings a lot.”

The debut single (title currently unknown) featuring Lil Wayne is set to be released sometime this week.
