Lil B to play one-off show in London in May | Music News

To compare Lil B to Marmite wouldn’t be a bad analogy – people either love him or really, really dislike the guy. Well, for those that do worship the Based God, today is a holy day as the Oakland rapper and member of The Pack announced he will play a one-off show, headlining Upset the Rhythm at XOYO in London on May 5th.

The gig will serve as Lil B’s second appearance in the UK, succeeding his impassioned performance at the Old Blue Last in July of last year (fact: JME, Skepta and Jammer were all in attendance, and there were some kids in the front row wearing aprons).

It seems like intimate performance are something of a trademark for the Based God. His inaugral performance at the Highline Ballroom in New York last year cemented B’s status as a hip hop cult hit as he evoked madness from the sold-out crowd, all with a gold-grill bearing smile on his face that attests to the humility of the guy. One person in the audience even screamed: “Lil B you can fuck my mom!”. Lil B then knighted the fan.

Those planning on attending will be in for one memorable gig, no doubt. Tickets are available now.
