L.A. Reid signs X-Factor USA winner Melanie Amaro to Epic Records | Music News

With the winner of X-Factor USA winning big this year with the grand prize also including a $5 million dollar contract and their own Pepsi Super Bowl commercial, the first winner to come from the US version of the popular talent show Melanie Amaro gets another surprise. The Virgin Island/Florida raised singer was picked up in no time by Judge and music mogul L.A. Reid, who has now signed the 19 year old songstress to Epic Records.

Delighted with his new signing Reid said in a statement: “I am pleased that she is now signed to Epic Records because I believe we have only scratched the surface on uncovering her talent and her inevitable journey to super-stardom.”

According to reports Melanie isn’t the only one who came out of the competition with a record deal. Two of the most-talked about contestants who were mentored by L.A. Reid on the show Chris Rene and young rapping sensation Astro (who will feature on Cher Lloyd‘s next single), are also said to be inking deals with Epic Records.

Looks like more than a few (including Simon Cowell) won big from the talent show, which is set to return to America next year.
