Kendrick Lamar to debut at No.2 in US Billboard charts with ‘good kid, m.A.A.d city’ |

It was inevitable that Kendrick Lamar would garner great sales for a debut album in his first week – especially as rave reviews have been coming in since its release – but he has well exceeded all expectations by reportedly selling over 240,000 units of good kid, m.A.A.d city in its first week, and has nabbed himself a no.2 spot in the Billboard charts according to early reports.

According to reports from HITS Daily Double, the Compton native’s sales tally up to an impressive 242,122 units sold, and was only beaten to the top spot by Taylor Swift who came in with an unattainable 1,209,817 units sold with her album Red.

Kendrick will please his Aftermath and Interscope bosses further as he also holds the number two spot in the iTunes chart, and with stellar reviews coming in on a daily basis it’s sure to surge in sales further.
