John Legend performs on NPR’s ‘Tiny Desk’ concert series [Video]

While still promotional run for Love in The Future and the 12 Years a Slave soundtrack which he executively produced, John Legend recently performed for NPR’s mini concert series “Tiny Desk.” Performing acoustic sets of songs including “Made To Love” and  “Move,” and giving an explanation as to why he felt so attached to the story of Solomon Northup.

According to Legend, his ancestors were kidnapped from Ohio and moved back into slavery. He found this out during Henry Louis Gate’s  Finding Your Roots PBS special.  “It’s a tough thing to watch I tell you that but its important for us to understand this part of our history,” added Legend.
