Jessie Ware shares ‘An Intricate Tale’ of soul, dance and ‘Devotion’ [Video]

Jessie Ware recently had a chat with the Hypetrak team at the Red Bull Studios to discuss the aims behind her September PMR Recordings debut, Devotion, and her dance influences growing up.

She also talks about her work with SBTRKT, Julio Bashmore and Joker – “Devotion has definitely stepped away from the dance record that people maybe thought I would make because I’ve worked with Joker and SBTRKT,” she comments, also touching on how blown away she is by Frank Ocean’s Channel Orange album, explaining her love for Aaliyah, Chaka Khan and especially Sade, as well as her thoughts on Adele comparisons. The South London singer has had a fantastic year, including a Mercury Prize nomination, and is due to being her sold out UK tour this month before hitting the road again in March 2013 for a second run around the country.
