Jay Z & Ron Howard’s “Made In America” Documentary | TV Catch-Up

Jay Z takes us behind the scenes of his multi-genre extravaganza, the “Made In America” festival held in Philadelphia last year. The event was carefully pieced together by Academy Award-winning director Ron Howard and this 90-minute documentary showcases everything from the announcement of the show, rehearsals, performance footage and interviews with various artists who took part in the the two-day event.

A concert documentary wouldn’t be complete without, of course, some crisp stage performances and this film contains that in abundance. Featured artists include the likes of Run-DMC, D’Angelo, Odd Future, Pearl Jam, Jill Scott, Skrillex, Janelle Monáe and Rita Ora amongst others.

Throughout the documentary we certainly get an understanding of the concept and thinking behind putting on such a spectacle, and just what the title “Made In America” means to everybody involved.
