French Montana ft. Rick Ross & Diddy – “Shot Caller” Remix | New Music

Outside of A$AP Rocky (and Fred The Godson to a certain extent), there has been no other New York Hip Hip artist that has been more talked about and received more blog space than that of French Montana. Over the past few months there had been a fierce bidding between war between some of Hip Hop’s biggest labels such as Def Jam, Kanye West‘s G.O.O.D. Music and Rick Ross‘ Maybach Music Group for the Moroccan rapper, who was at one stage signed to Akon‘s Konvict Muzik label.

However, according to some early unconfirmed reports and industry buzz, it seems as though French may have sealed a joint venture deal with Maybach Music Group and Diddy‘s rejuvenated Bad Boy Records, now home to Machine Gun Kelly and ironically former Konvict Muzik artist Red Cafè as well as Janelle Monae and Dirty Money.

While we await confirmation of the deal, sit back and listen to the [Funkmaster Flex liberated] official remix of French’s current club banger “Shot Caller” featuring none other than… Rick Ross and Diddy.

Even though Puff is notorious [no pun intended] for signing artists to Bad Boy and and not releasing their projects, I think with Maybach Music’s direct involvement and not forgetting the early success of Wale‘s Ambition LP, this could be a great move for French.

Does the rise of A$AP Rocky, Fred The Godson and French Montana mean #NewYorkRapBack? Only time will tell. Let us know your thoughts on this alleged deal and stay locked to SoulCulture for more info.
