Chris Kelly from Kris Kross’ cause of death revealed as a drug overdose | News

On May 1st 2013 Chris “Mac Daddy” Kelly, who found fame at the age of 13 as one half of the So So Def signed kid rap duo Kris Kross, died in a hospital in Atlanta, Georgia after being found unconscious and unresponsive at his home aged 34. And today the official cause of his death has been revealed.

According to the Atlanta Medical Examiner’s Office, Chris died of a drugs overdose, with the toxicology screening showing cocktail of narcotics in his system. The rapper’s mother had informed the police that her son had used cocaine and heroin the night before he died and admitted that Chris had a history of drug use and abuse.

Kris Kross made their mark on the public with their 1992 release “Jump” which was a global smash hit and topped the US charts for over 2 months, shifting over four million units.
