Azekel – “No Ordinary Love” | New Music

Gearing up to release his debut EP, emerging talent Azakel embraces a soul-stroking sample of Sade‘s classic “No Ordinary Love” for his own song of the same name as he ruminates on painful family dynamics and parenthood.

Born in Nigeria and based in East London, there’s something a little bit Frank Ocean about Azakel from his vocal delivery to the conversational samples utilised on the track, which Azakel co-produced with Adelight, but there’s also a British edge as he takes the Sade bassline and flips it with some almost Soul II Soul-esque vibes.

Azakel’s debut EP, titled Circa, is released at the end of the month on October 28th through Generator / THNDR LGHTNG Recordings, and from the material he’s unveiled so far it will be well worth checking for. Pre-order Circa on iTunes and listen to “No Ordinary Love” below along with two other cuts from the five-track project.
