August Alsina f/ Curren$y – “Let Me Hit That” | New Music

New Def Jam recuit August Alsina teams his soulful vocals with a cool verse from Jet Life rapper Curren$y for his latest track, “Let Me Hit That.”

With a voice reminiscent of a young Trey Songz, August demonstrates his sultry skills on this new song, which is a not so subtle ode to Mary Jane. However, his fellow New Orleans native Curren$y argues that the laid back joint [no pun intended] could be open to interpretation, as the lyrics also appear to apply to women; “It could be about a special young lady, it could be about a special plant.” [“Brown Sugar,” anyone?]

August – who has previously worked with the likes of Lloyd and Trinidad Jame$ – is currently gearing up for the release of his new mixtape, The Product II, which will be hosted by DJ Drama and drops on May 6. Until then, get in the mood for weed or woman [your choice] by hitting play below.
