Amy Winehouse’s ashes buried during north London farewell ceremony | Music News

Two days after what would have been her 29th birthday, a small number of friends and family congregated in Edgware to bid farewell to Amy Winehouse as the magnetic and brilliant singer’s ashes were buried at a ceremony in north London.

The “Frank” singer laid to rest with a black headstone decorated with pink writing and inscribed with a songbird. The headstone also reportedly carries a tribute to her grandmother, Cynthia Levy.

As plans are underway for a spectacular commemoration for what would have been Winehouse’s 30th birthday next year, it is reported that so far The Amy Winehouse Foundation, which was formed by Amy’s father Mitch, has raised £230,000 since the singer’s death. This is heartening news, as the charity aims to support young people “who are in need by reason of ill health, disability, financial disadvantage or addiction.”
