Nas invests in Mass Appeal magazine | Business

Eleven years after featuring in Mass Appeal magazine with mentor and Main Source veteran Large Professor, Nas has made a six-figure investment in Mass Appeal Media, the company behind the publication, which was recently re-launched as a quarterly magazine and online hub.

According to Forbes the New York rap icon was, “dismayed at the lack of options for readers interested in all aspects of hip-hop culture,” and will now serve as Associate Publisher for the magazine, which originally started in 1996, geared towards graffiti artists and enthusiasts.

Speaking on the investment Nas said: “Mass Appeal has a legacy and respect. It already has a foundation … I just feel like I can add on because I can lend my kind of cultural expertise and my professional acumen, and develop the business.”

Joining Nas on the Mass Appeal deal are creative company Decon and White Owl Capital Partners, an “early stage investment firm with interests in tech, media and energy in North America, Europe and China.”
