SoulCulture.TV caught up with Compton emcee Kendrick Lamar at SXSW 2011 to grab his thoughts on being hailed the future of West Coast Hip Hop, growing up listening to NWA on his father’s encouragement and the experience of now working with Dr. Dre on his long-awaited Detox LP, featuring as an XXL Freshman, the need for quality and consistency in music and life and working on a new album for 2012 [“I treat every project like it’s an album anyway”].
