Dale Dickey of 'True Blood' added to 'Iron Man 3' cast | Film News

Judging by the quality of acting talent attached to it, the third installment of Marvel's Iron Man series is shaping up to be one hell of a movie.

Having already signed up the likes of the venerable Ben Kingsley, the excellent Guy Pearce and The Town's Rebecca Hall to compliment Robert Downey, Jr., Don Cheadle and Gwyneth Paltrow, the casting directors of Iron Man 3 have also scored another talented performer to beef up the sheer awesomeness of the latest Tony Stark opus.

Marvel and Disney have selected an older and wiser head to join its stable of fine actors, adding True Blood's Dale Dickey to the film's ensemble cast.

Dickey, who plays Martha Bozeman in the popular TV adaptation of Charlaine Harris' Bon Temps vampire-fest, is set to portray a character known simply as Mrs. Davis.

"I'm filming now. That's it. They asked my agent not to put anything in the trades when I was cast over a month ago, so they are trying to keep as much mystery as possible," Dickey said.

Iron Man 3 is being helmed by Kiss Kiss Bang Bang director and Lethal Weapon writer Shane Black. Described as a “technological crisis thriller,” the film is just one of many projects lined up for Marvel's much discussed "Phase 2."

Iron Man 3 is scheduled for released next year.

Ryan Kwanten discusses vampires, Anna Paquin and 'True Blood' | TV News

True Blood has its fans and its detractors; its lovers and its haters. The two groups are divided along battle lines, taking up arms and warring about the quality, merits and credibility of the show. Some praise its humour, its take on social issues and Pulp Fiction-inspired use of sex, glamour and gore. Others deride its gratuitous use of T&A, its melodramatic storylines and childish righteousness.

All parties, however, see eye to eye on two things:

1) Deborah Ann Woll's Jessica, the sexy red-haired vampire, is fine as hell.

2) Jason Stackhouse is most likely the best thing about the show.

Jason, Sookie's endearing older brother, is brought to life on screen by the charming performance of Australian actor Ryan Kwanten.

The popular character consistently steals scenes and catches the eye with his hilarious quips and empathetic nature, being less intellectually gifted than most but irresistible to the ladies of Bon Temps.

Breaking bread with Vulture, Kwanten, the one time Home and Away star, discusses life on True Blood, playing dumb and competing in triathlons while drunk.

Praising his True Blood co-star and on-screen baby sister Anna Paquin, Kwanten says:

"Anna and I have been petitioning for it for a little while. It really helps to keep the show grounded with that honest reality of seeing a brother-sister relationship. We were also cautious to make sure Anna (who is pregnant with her first child) was looked after all the time. We’ve been shooting this show for over five years, so we’re a very tight-knit crew who really adores Anna. And she was such a trooper."

The Aussie star also took the opportunity to provide some much-needed context for a recently-tweeted picture of himself in a zero gravity chamber.

"That was an opportunity that came about. Such a bizarre life that I live ... They take you out on a plane to 25,000 feet. I don’t want to get too scientific on you — not that I could anyway — but over the course of the flight, you’ll experience about seven and a half minutes of weightlessness. We were catching things in our mouth. And we did the rat run, where you run all over the plane. I guess it would take a greater man than me to say no to something like that. I was on a high for the next couple of weeks, much like I was when I first jumped out of a plane."

As well as revealing his currently work on a play that highlights domestic violence, inspired by his sister's murder in 2004, Ellis also displays strong support for Tyler Perry and welcomes the idea of working with him.
