Kendrick Lamar live at the Black Friday Music Festival in Florida [Video]

Check out some dope high-quality footage of Kendrick Lamar's performance at the Black Friday music festival, which took place this past Friday (23rd November) in Boca Raton, Florida.

The stylishly shot clip captures the best moments of Kendrick's performance, showing the Compton rapper in his element as he raps a selection of tracks from his major label debut good kid, m.A.A.d city and drops a few older songs such as "ADHD", supported all the while by a zealous crowd. Kendrick appeared alongside the likes of Kid Ink and Pusha T at the post-Thanksgiving festival, and you can watch highlights from their performances at the Sunset Cove amphitheatre here.

For now though, here he is performing on his own, courtesy of the video-skills of The Ambience crew's Jason Bassett:

Kendrick Lamar talks family life on VEVO Lift [Video]

In the latest instalment of the VEVO Lift series, Kendrick Lamar takes us down to the westside of Compton to give us a look at the neighbourhood where he was brought up.

We are given an up close and personal look at the kitchen where his first independent album, Section.80, was written, and get to hear K-Dot explain the influence his parents had on his musical taste as he says.

"They played everything from gangsta rap to oldies," he said. "You would hear Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre and then Marvin Gaye on the next track."

Kendrick Lamar – "Hol' Up" (Live at SXSW) [Video]

If there was a "most documented artist at SXSW" category, Kendrick Lamar would be leading it by a long mile. The abundance of phone camera footage is fine and dandy, but allow Camovement to present their take of events as they bring you K.Dot's live performance of "Hol' Up" with some superb shots and excellent editing. For those who claim to be down with current rap, "TDE who?" isn't a question you should be asking. A few weeks back the good folks over at 2DopeBoyz caught up with one and the only Kendrick Lamar out in MIA (that's Miami for those who don't know) for a an exclusive interview. Kendrick Lamar & Busta Rhymes debut "Rigamortus" onstage in LA [Video]

Two months ago during his debut showcase at New York's famed music venue SOB's, Kendrick Lamar played a snippet of the official remix to "Rigamortus," taken from his incredible Section.80 album featuring Busta Rhymes. Since then, any news regarding the track's official release date and the track itself had gone dead... until last night. Taking a little side step from Drake's Club Paradise Tour, Kendrick returned to the Music Box in Los Angeles to headline a special charity concert for victimized women in benefit of L.A.'s Downtown Women's Center and Project RISHI.

Kendrick Lamar - "Rigamortis" | Music Video

Brand new visuals from the toast of the west coast Kendrick Lamar. "Rigamortis" is taken from the critically acclaimed Section.80 project (Read our review here) and is directed by the very dope ICU. Watch the full video below.

When rigor mortis occurs within a corpse, its muscles tighten, causing the body to become stiff and very difficult to move. The chemical reaction makes all blood gravitate to the areas of the body that are closest to the ground, leaving colorful spots as an indication of life that once existed. As the soul escapes, toxins remain causing the corpse to rot and decompose. This is the fate that Kendrick Lamar has deemed onto the competition, more commonly known as your favorite rapper. Amen!

Death can be so beautiful at times. Boasting bars as mad as Marilyn Manson, one grim rapper emerges to hold hip hop ransom. Hailing from Compton, Los Angeles, one of America's most neglected graveyards, Kendrick yields his sickle (ballpoint pen) to pry open the caskets of lyricism, musicianship, and tradition. The emcee, once known as K. Dot, hence displays an heir of irony in his verses, murdering the fraudulent with the same weapon used for shedding light on realness.

Section 80 was released in the first week of July and continues to receive steady rotation from barbershop stereos to iPods on college campuses. A clear game changer, his debut album is dynamic in the sense that it brings forth the story of a generation incubated in the years of Reaganomics, while projecting the rebellious voice of a youth discontented by society's harsh inflictions.

Directors, The ICU caught up with Kendrick Lamar at various locations throughout New York City to shoot this highly anticipated video off of Section 80. Accompanied by a triumphant three piece brass section, this funeral procession is not a mournful event, but rather a triumphant proclamation for a resurrecting art form. Chuuuch!

After the jump watch the behind the scenes footage.Read more

Kendrick Lamar previews "Rigamortus" Remix ft Busta Rhymes [Video]

"I promise you this whole building might burn down when you hear this Busta verse" - Kendrick Lamar.
Just a few hours ago at a showcase at SOBs in New York City, the west coast phenom known as Kendrick Lamar gave an already excitable crowd a preview of a remix of my second favourite track from his Section.80 project. The 24 year old Compton, California raised rapper unveiled a remix of "Rigamortus" featuring the legendary Brooklyn bully foot boss Busta Rhymes. Peep the preview below courtesy of Mikey Fresh.

Damn... just damn. I need the full version in my life now. Stay locked for updates.

Kendrick Lamar - "A.D.H.D" (directed by Va$htie) | Official Music Video

Fresh on the interwebs is the latest visual from my favourite rapper at the moment, the West Coast repping Kendrick Lamar.
The video for "ADHD" from his 5 Soul awarded Section.80 project is presented by Rocksmith and directed by the very incredible Va$htie who you may remember directed a very dope unofficial video for the CRS (Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco, Pharrell) "US Placers" track that set the next on fire a few years ago.
Check out the video below.

Inspired by "A.D.H.D."s dark beat and melancholy lyrics which explore a generation in conflict, we find Kendrick Lamar in a video that illustrates the songs universal and age-old theme of apathetic youth.

Shot in New York City during the sweltering July Summer heat, "A.D.H.D" is the third video to be released from Kendrick Lamar's debut album "Section.80".

Section.80 is out now. Read our review here.
