Snapshot: Rita Ora covers GQ magazine UK's 2013 music special issue

She might not have any new solo material out at the moment but that doesn't stop chart-topping songstress Rita Ora from covering GQ magazine's August issue as she strips off for the risque shoot wearing nothing more than make-up and diamonds.

The London-hailing singer talks about her bevvy of celebrity friends who now not only include her Roc Nation boss Jay-Z, but also model Cara Delevingne and producer Calvin Harris who is reportedly working on the singer's upcoming new album. The new LP serves as her sophomore project in the UK but will be her debut in the US.

The new issue of GQ hits stands on the fourth of July.

J. Cole - Born Sinner | Album Review

Unfazed by the sales showdown between himself and Kanye West - “I'mma drop the album the same day as Kanye/ Just to show the boy’s the man now like Wanyá” - J. Cole hits listeners off with new album Born Sinner. With much hype surrounding Cole’s major label sophomore release, the bar appears to have been set very high with this brave, bold, and at times controversially beautiful journey of self-exploration mirroring that of a musical confessional.Read more

J. Cole f/ Kendrick Lamar - "Forbidden Fruit" | New Music

J Cole 'Born Sinner' Album Cover

This one is one of my favourite tracks on J. Cole's new album, and kind of plays on the Adam and Eve story from the Bible's book of Genesis. Jermaine wasn't lying when he said there were no rap verses on the LP, as Kendrick Lamar doesn't lay down a 16 bar but the track cleverly weaves between Cole's vocals and Kendrick's before letting Lamar take on the chorus duties. DJ Mustard f/ YG x Joe Moses - “Burn Rubber” | New Music

DJ Mustard, the producer responsible for creating such killer beats and club anthems as Tyga's "Rack City" and 2 Chainz's "I'm Different", has just unveiled his new track "Burn Rubber".

The recent Roc Nation signee enlisted YG and Joe Moses to accompany him on the bassy number, the first track from the West Coast hailing beat maker's forthcoming project Ketchup (get it?) (due on June 3), which will have no problem finding itself onto fellow DJs Serato playlists.

Take a listen to the new track after the jump.

Bridget Kelly does a pretty great job handling the Emeli Sande-penned chorus for "My Time" - the new single from fellow Roc Nation signee, K Koke. Read more

J. Cole's Born Sinner Ep. 3 "Ibrahim 'IB' Hamad" [Video]

Screen Shot 2013-05-24 at 20.04.15

If you’re going to build a brand, you’re going to need a team.

From the word of mouth groundwork in Queens to million-dollar phone calls with Jay-Z, this latest installment of Born Sinner stresses the importance of a right hand man. Jay had Dame, Big had Puff and while Ibrahim ‘IB’ Hamad might be a lesser known name to the industry and fans alike, his input and systematic approach is seen and heard in every aspect of J. Cole's music.

Like the earlier two pieces, this retrospective visual keeps the Born Sinner hype machine in full effect in a traditionally striking aesthetic. If the promo trail is anything to go by, Jermaine will certainly be stepping to the next level on June 18th when his second studio album Born Sinner is finally let out into the wild.

"Warning: Please be very afraid of the music we’re working on. OVO x ROCNATION" reads the caption that accompanied the image of Jay-Z and Drake above that Def Jam's Lenny Santiago, posted on Instagram earlier.

The picture follows on from a snap the Head of A&R uploaded of Jay-Z posing with Wu-Tang general Raekwon, understandably causing people to question when and where the new music will be surfacing.
