Mr. Muthafuckin' eXquire - "The Message" | New Music

As he gears up to release his new EP, Power & Passion, on October 30th, the burly Brooklyn-bred emcee known as Mr. Muthafuckin' eXquire drops off a new joint via SoundCloud. Commencing with a sample of N.W.A's "Dopeman," before venturing into a predictably dark and dizzying soundscape, "The Message" is all well and good, only eXquire can't quite remember who made the beat. Always a bummer. Our guess is El-P, who was conveniently spotted in the studio with MFN recently.

Give "The Message" a listen below, and be sure to watch Mr. Muthafuckin' eXquire's new "Position of Passion" video, which was premiered just yesterday.

Mr. Muthafuckin' eXquire - "Position of Passion" (NSFW) | Music Video

Mr. Muthafuckin' eXquire looks to get his upcoming EP, Power & Passion, back in motion as he gives one of the project's early leaks, "Position of Passion," a visual makeover. The clip, which you can view below, is pretty much what you'd expect from the Brooklyn-bred rhymer: a grimy setting, eccentric fashion tastes, and voluptuous women shaking what their momma gave them. And as you probably notice, the track borrows the beat from 50 Cent's The Massacre cut, "Position of Power."

Power & Passion is due out at a later date of October 30th, and serves as eXquire's first release since signing to Universal back in March.

Mr. Muthafuckin' eXquire - "Lost In Transition" | New Music

Fresh off breakin' necks (read: hectic touring) and cashin' checks (read: chasin' checks), Brooklyn-bred, Universal Records-signed emcee Mr. Muthafuckin' eXquire gifts a new joint for us with "Lost In Transition". The grimy, crawling number was recorded with producer Mike Jaxx back in January upon a trip to Chicago.

Although MMF has two EPs in the works, this track will feature on Ruby Hornet and MTV 2 Sucker Free's Closed Sessions Vol. 2 compilation, due out August 30th.

Stream and download "Lost In Transition" below, and look for eXquire's new solo EP, Power & Passion, to arrive on September 3rd.

Mr. Muthafuckin' eXquire announces new EP | Music News

Fresh off the release of the Into the Wild Tour mixtape, the freebie to accompany his recently embarked-on roadshow alongside El-P, Killer Mike and Despot, the Brooklyn-bred eccentric known as Mr. Muthafuckin' eXquire has announced his first release under his new home of Universal Records.Read more

El-P, Mr. Muthafuckin' eXquire, Killer Mike x Despot - 'Into The Wild Tour' [Mixtape]

Well, if this ain't an unholy collaboration of all unholy collaborations. Revered Def Jux figurehead El-P, eccentric NYC newcomer Mr. Muthafuckin' eXquire, Atlanta's rap Godfather Killer Mike and Queens rep and Def Jux-signed Despot have all joined forces - in what I imagine to be a kick-ass Voltron-like scene - for this Into The Wild Tour mixtape. The free release serves as somewhat of a taster for the frequent-collaborators' upcoming tour of the same name (duh), and features a mix of both new and existing tracks.Read more

Carrie Wilds f/ Mr. Muthafuckin’ eXquire – 'Stay' (Prod. Lunice) | Music Video

We all need a little variation in our musical diets, which is why Carrie Wilds’ new video is the perfect ingredient. The Brooklyn-bred, Mishka-signed (she’s the label’s first female solo act) songstress teams up with fellow brand rep Mr. Muthafuckin’ eXquire to give their “Stay” collaboration the visual gloss.Read more

The Alchemist - 'Russian Roulette' | Cover + Tracklist

Aside from the mightily impressive Vodka & Ayahuasca project alongside rapper-producer Oh No under the Gangrene outfit, The Alchemist has remained pretty low key recently. I guess that's how he's always played it, though, until every couple of years, he drops a nuclear bomb of awesomeness on the hip-hop world with his compilation albums.Read more

Kool A.D. (of Das Racist) - 'La Piñata' | Music Video

As if Kool A.D.'s brand new solo release 51 wasn't quirky enough, the Das Racist genius/comedian (delete as appropriate) only gives us a matter of days before transplanting the project in front of a camera. It's the "La Piñata" cut that's first in line - and yes, you're right, there is too much fun to be had with a title like that. Read more

Mr. Muthaf*ckin' eXquire - "Position of Passion" | New Music

In an era where the ignorant, the eccentric and the downright candy-coated hold hip-hop's fickle attention, 50 Cent gets a lot of flack, mostly due to being a walking cliche of what rap used to be (read: what the general public still thinks hip-hop is).

Aside from the very true - but very typical - streetwise image he eventually became a caricature of, Fiddy managed to pack some smooth jams amidst the bullet holes and fight talk. His 2005 cut "Position of Power" (from The Massacre LP) is just that, and serves as the vehicle to Mr. Muthaf*ckin' eXquire's latest venture into semi-simple/semi-genius rap.

Mr. Muthafuckin' eXquire freestyles on Pitchfork's "Selector" [Video]

Pitchfork introduced their "Selector" segment almost two years ago (March 22nd 2010 to be exact). The video series follows the same format every time: Nabbing a dope emcee, offering him or her two different beats (that are generally from indie producers) and asking them to pick one - and one only - for a freestyle.
