Big Sean ft. Nas & Kid Cudi - "First Chain" | New Music

Like every anticipated album, Big Sean's Hall Of Fame has sprung a leak. While the star-studded tracklist offers a variety by the likes of Nicki Minaj, Juicy J, Young Jeezy and James Fauntleroy, we're offering a preview of Sean's Nas and Kid Cudi-collaboration, "First Chain."

"First Chain," produced by legendary producer No I.D., tells a story of success using a chain as a symbol of "making it." Remember your first chain? Sean raps that he doesn't recall his first love but he remember his first chain. Nas and former G.O.O.D. Music labelmate Kid Cudi add their verses to the single in which Kudi proclaims, "G.O.O.D. Music ni**a forever." Preview the single below and pre-order Hall Of Fame on iTunes before it's released on August 27.

Big Sean performs "Switch Up" live for the first time [Video]

Taking over the University of Southern California to headline Springfest 2013, Big Sean not only treated his fans to a string of his hits but also took the oppurtunity to perform his recently released "Switch Up" live for the first time for the lively crowd.

The song, produced by No I.D., Rob Kinelski and Million $ Mano, fitted in perfectly with the Springfest activities as Sean bounced around the stage energetically accompanied by the banging beat supporting him. Despite Common not being able to make it to do his verse, Sean represented his G.O.O.D Music affiliates by going straight into the cliques remix of Chief Keef's "I Don't Like."

Speaking of his G.O.O.D Music affiliates, after taking to Twitter to clear up rumours that certain lyrics on the song were a shot at Kid Cudi's departure from the label (“The same team? Nah, I ain’t switch up”), Sean further reiterated the point before heading into the track saying that it definitely isn't a diss track.

"This is real mutha f*ckin song, it aint no diss song. It's just for everybody. This my first time doing this sh*t for USC, my first time doing it in the world, so we gotta turn the f*ck up."

Big Sean f/ Common - "Switch Up" | New Music

With the anticipation building for his sophomore album Hall Of Fame, Big Sean drops the Common assisted banger "Switch Up".

With production coming from a trio of producers - Million $ Mano (Kanye West's DJ), No I.D., and Rob Kinelski - the track has hit the ground running. Sending the internet in to a frenzy, listeners have already been concluding that the track, which features the lyrics, "The same team? Nah, I ain't switch up," might be directed at KiD CuDi - who recently announced his departure from the  G.O.O.D. Music label. However, with a few tweets put out by both parties, Sean assures listeners that "Switch Up" is in no way, shape, or form directed at CuDi.

Listen to "Switch Up" below.

Kid Cudi announces he is no longer a part of G.O.O.D Music | News

The relationship between Kid Cudi and Kanye West has always been strong with Kanye calling Cudi one of his favourite artists, Cudi stating on "Dennis, Hook Me Up With That Whiskey" that West saved his life twice (we think just metaphorically), and their collaborations culminating in Cudi being on Ye's G.O.O.D Music label. Well as all good things must come to an end Cudi has surprisingly announced that he has now left G.O.O.D Music.

During an interview on Power 106, when casually asked how the label was treating him, Cudi began nonchalantly before dropping the bomb that he has left the label that houses Pusha T, Big Sean and Common amongst others.

"Everything is cool, everything is peace with everybody on the label, there's never been any issues. But I am announcing that I am no longer on G.O.O.D  Music, and this is something that no one knows really."

Obviously shocked by the surprise announcement, jokes were made about Cudi not being able to put up with Kanye as his boss anymore which he quickly shrugged off saying, "I could never get tired of Kanye."

"I wanna focus on Wicked Awesome, I wanna focus on Chip and that's it. I wanna keep my sound going on the Cudi train."

It looks like we're not the only ones that will be shocked by the news as the Cleveland-hailing rapper went on to say that his former label mates will probably be finding out via the radio, too.

"I mean I don't have to tell nobody. I think nobody knows until now. I just talked to Kanye and told him that I wanted to do my own thing."

Cudi went on to say that he spoke to Don C and Jay Z before actually approaching Ye, to make sure he wouldn't offend his unofficial mentor with his decision.

Check out the full interview below to hear it from the man himself.
