John Mayer f/ Frank Ocean - "Wildfire" | New Music

Following guitarist and singer-songwriter John Mayer's appearance on Frank Ocean's debut Channel Orange, Frank Ocean has continued their collaboration with a guest spot on Mayer's new forthcoming record, Paradise Valley.

Much like the Channel Orange collaboration "White", their new single "Wildfire" features a softly placed, ethereal backing of piano and guitar that Ocean enunciates his signature vocal over. Mayer adds some additional harmonising, but coming in at only 88 seconds, the track is a minimalistic yet beautiful interlude in which both artists' skill for subtlety is showcased. Take a listen to the track below and keep an eye out for Paradise Valley which is set for release on 20th August.

While his so-called peers embrace the current electro-centric wave, Frank is fighting a lonely battle to restore credibility to an ailing genre. Read more
