Whilst tracks 1, 5, and 8 are missing from the stream, you can download the full mixtape here.

Here comes that time again when us regular folk find out who's earning what in the music world - and it's no small change. Alicia Keys - Girl On Fire | Album Review

Returning to the frontline and ready to offer up some of her signature sound, Alicia Keys puts out her RCA Records debut Girl On Fire. Her fifth studio album overall, it’s the first time she’s released any new material since 2009’s Element of Freedom. With her marriage to producer Swizz Beatz and the birth of their first son, Egypt, part reason for the delay, there’s also been a shift in record labels, some sneaker designing, and a bit of charity work thrown in to the mix for good measure. Refocusing her energies on the music, her most recent ongoing promotional campaign has seen her very much stroll back in to the limelight, and to a good reception. Read more

Hopsin - "Deep Cover" (Freestyle) | New Music

I'll be honest, I'm not the biggest Hopsin fan. Whilst he's got an ability to produce bizarre and hilarious punchlines, I think the L.A. rapper also has a tendency to mess with his flow, voice(s) and eyes in a way that's just a little bit tiresome. Read more

Kendrick Lamar x Andre 3000 x Dr Dre in the studio [Video]

Kendrick Lamar seems to have a habit for attracting rap's dormant superpowers. In this short clip, we see K Dot kicking it in the lab with not one, but two Dre's, both of whom we'd love to hear new solo stuff from; first Dr Dre (who signed Kendrick to Aftermath) and second, Andre 3000.

OutKast's experimental genius sits at Kendrick's right-hand side whilst vibing to to good kid, m.A.A.d. city album cut "Bitch Don't Kill My Vibe", and although we only hear a few words from him ("That shit is excellent, man, that shit is excellent!"), it's still great to see this association. We already know 3 Stacks has been an important influence on Kendrick's music (you only need to listen to recent track "The Art of Peer Pressure") so hopefully this studio session means they're making some music together. It's a musical partnership that needs to happen.

Kendrick Lamar brings out Dr Dre & T.I. in LA [Video]

Kendrick Lamar hit Los Angeles last night for two sold-out shows on his BET Music Matters tour, and he was joined by a couple of very special guests.

The first surprise appearance came from the King, T.I, who performed his Trouble Man single "Go Get It", and also dropped one of his biggest hits, "What You Know", promoting his and Kendrick's albums with trademark energy.

To continue the long list of OGs who have co-signed Kendrick, Dr Dre then came out onto the stage to express his good feeling towards Compton's greatest hope once more. The West Coast legend, who joined Kendrick for special renditions of "Compton" and "The Recipe" reserved some particularly kind words for his younger companion:

“I got to let y’all know something, I’m so proud of this man right here. He’s a true muthafuckin’ lyricist, a real muthafuckin’ MC and that’s what we need in muthafuckin’ hip-hop.”

Watch as Dre hit the stage with Kendrick below:
