When I was seven or eight my cousin attempted suicide and I walked in on her crushing pills into the bathroom carpet. Having recently announced his new role as an Ambassador for Susan G Komen for the Cure Circle of Promise (which is designed to further engage black women in the fight against breast cancer) Musiq Soulchild lends his voice to the cause, standing by his girlfriend in her fight against breast cancer in this, the latest single off his sixth album MUSIQINTHEMAGIQ. Having released the track and the typography video way back in April, the official visuals have recently hit the interwebs with the R&B superstar tying the knot, real life cancer survivors looking on. What a tear jerker.

Alicia Keys set to direct breast cancer film, 'Five,' for Lifetime TV | Film News

Not content with being a fourteen time Grammy Award winner, actress, mother, philanthropist and recording her forthcoming album, Alicia Keys is set to dabble into film making, according to reports. Keys will be collaborating with Jennifer Aniston, Demi Moore and Patty Jenkins to direct a new Sony Pictures production titled Five which will be airing on Lifetime TV next year.

The film is said to be an amalgamation of five short films that tell the story of the influence of breast cancer on people's lives. A press release stated that the film will use: “…humor and drama to focus on the effect that breast cancer and its diagnosis have on relationships and the way women perceive themselves, while searching for strength, comfort, medical breakthroughs and, ultimately, a cure.”
