By now it’s no secret that Pharrell Williams likes to wear multiple hats, including the large one he’s been sporting recently. As well as writing, composing, producing, singing, rapping and playing a number of instruments, the Oscar-nominated N.E.R.D. is also a skateboarder, an artist and a fashion designer – the last of which in particular has opened many doors for him.

Along with co-founding the clothing brands Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream Footwear, working with Timberland, Palladium and A Bathing Ape and designing jewellery and glasses for Louis Vuitton, Williams can now add a long-term partnership with none other than sports fashion monster Adidas to the list.

The highly speculated collaboration was announced earlier today, with Pharrell sharing his excitement by saying: “Working with an iconic brand like adidas is such an incredible opportunity. From the classic track suit, to growing up in Virginia wearing Stan Smiths, adidas has been a staple in my life. Their pieces are timeless. This is an exciting partnership for both me and for Bionic Yarn.”

Head of Adidas Sport Style Division and Global Creative Director, Dirk Schoenberger reciprocated by saying: “I am truly thrilled to work with Pharrell. He is a pop-culture icon that never fails to inspire, not just through his musical talent and craft, but through his many other interests. He is the perfect fit for the multi-faceted company that is adidas.”

The first products from this partnership, utilising Pharrell’s eco-friendly Bionic Yarn [crafted from recycled plastic], are set to debut this Summer. Watch the teaser trailer below.
