This week the Brits got a chance to show off their fashion credentials at the 2012 British Fashion Awards with a stellar list of attendees and winners for a stylish night out, held at The Savoy. As with any fashion awards show, the ladies came dressed to impress with a fierce battle ensuing for the best dressed starlet of the night with Rita Ora, Alexa Chung and Jourdan Dunn all in attendance.
Model of the moment Cara Delevigne stunned in a shiny green mini-dress designed by Burberry, the British brand whom Cara previously campaigned for. The young model beamed as she picked up an award for Model Of The Year, describing her win as being “like one of those Zoolander moments when you think they’ve said the wrong name. It’s out of this world. I never thought it would happen.”
Cara shared some of the spotlight with fellow model Alexa Chung, who won the public-voted award for British Style, wearing an understated, sheer, panelled black dress. Designer – and daughter of rock star Paul McCartney – Stella McCartney, took home the prestigious Designer Of The Year award, as well as Brand Of The Year, which rounds up a successful year for her after designing for the 2012 Olympics.
Other attendees included Rita Ora wearing a unique Vivienne Westwood designed dress, later changing into a more laid back all white outfit, actress Lily Collins rocking the goth trend in a black, Mulberry maxi-dress, Salma Hayek in Stella McCartney, and model Jourdan Dunn in a custom made Topshop gown.
