yU - The Earn
Yesterday, Mello Music Group added one more release to their year of notable releases from artists like Oddisee, Daily Bread, DTMD, releasing the new project from emcee yU.  You may be familiar with yU as part of Diamond District along with Oddisee, however from a solo standpoint he releases rather quality music; shown with his critically acclaimed solo album, Before Taxes, whilst with his new album, The Earn, yU shows his growth as an artist without leaving out the essence of who he is as an artist.

Coinciding with the release of the project, yU releases his new single, “Blind.”  Featuring production from Kev Brown, the track explores the exploration of the heightened sensory awareness to sound that is present when one’s sight is taken and to the myriad of blessings in life we miss when not tuned in.  The song is great, and the lyrics are as well; I may not say nothing, but you better believe that I’m listening.  To the sound of your vibration with my mind.  Now you may use your eyes to see.  But I just let my senses lead me to destinations they say that I’m blind.

Featuring a-list production from yU himself, CHarlie Ross, Roddy Rod, Usef Dinero as well as collaborations from his Diamond District Counterparts, Imani Bilal, Duff, make sure to purchase yU’s album The Earn, out now via iTunes.  It is definitely worth the investment.
