XV f/ Slim The Mobster – ‘Andy Warhol’ | New Music
Like always, indie rap favourite XV is working on a new free project. As he gears up to release his latest mixtape Popular Music, the Wichita, KS native delivers “Andy Warhol”, an Awesome Sound-produced cut featuring a surprise collaboration with Dr. Dre understudy, Slim The Mobster. Littered with quotes from Warhol, the song cleverly incorporates XV’s name into the iconic artist’s Nostradamus-like prediction, “In the future, everyone will be famous for XV minutes.”
You can stream “Andy Warhol” below and watch a visual preview of Popular Culture after the jump.
“I created ‘Popular Culture’ to set ppl up for the sound of my debut album TKWTGB [The Kid With the Green Backpack]. And to use a lot of samples I couldn’t clear. Lol!” XV explained via Facebook.
